I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Ash after a friend shared her positive experience with eye lid surgery @ this center. Shortly after checking in with the centers front receptionist she handed me a bill for $104. I asked what the bill was for since I hadn't even been seen?? She said due to bad experiences with previous patients the "deductible" needed to be paid up front. Then she directed me to Dr. Ashrafzadeh (Dr.Ash) reception area. There I was once again asked to pay the $104. My question was why do I have to pay this deductible I haven't even been told if I qualify for the surgery yet? The receptionist had no clear answer other than it was required since my insurance didn't cover. Now let me be clear I have CADILLAC Insurance. I haven't had to pay a deductible since I gave birth to my children 17 years ago! So although I wasn't pleased to have to pay for this, I had traveled 45 minutes & taken 4 hours off work to drive to Modesto to be seen. I didn't want to leave without getting an answer. After paying the fee, I was taken into a large room where there was ZERO privacy and at least 8 other patients being screened by other medical staff thru various eye screening machines. I played their game & did this mini vision screening they did the optomap screening & walked over to a private room for Dr Ash. He came in looked at both my eyes thru his lenses then said. No you don't qualify, insurance won't cover this procedure not enough hanging lid. 😒 So basically I drove 45 minutes, took 4 hours of time off and paid $104 for nothing. Do I recommend? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Complete RIP OFF!!! The staff who had my insurance WEEKS before my scheduled appointment could have advised me of the up front costs. I would have canceled & not wasted my time or theirs. Attached you'll find the bill I was handed by the front desk upon my arrival. Note it has zero explanation of the fees.👎🏼

Had a very positive experience with my recent Lasik procedure w/Dr. Ash. He was very professional, attentive, and compassionate. Tasha H., his Lasik & Surgical Coordinator, was also a pleasure to work with. She was pleasant, upfront, responsive, and accommodating. Very pleased with my overall experience. Would definitely refer friends and family.
